The Pittsburgh Steelers fan base has yet to see prospective starting running back Le’Veon Bell in action after being held from their preseason opener with nagging injuries. Bell returned to practice last Monday and was listed as a co-starter for their second preseason game of the year, but he suffered a setback midway through the week and his status for Monday night’s game against the Washington Redskins was in jeopardy.
However, Bell returned to full practice on Saturday and it looks like all systems will be a go after he was given a clean bill of health.
The Steelers have really lacked having a star running back since Rashard Mendenhall once flashed promise before being slowed by multiple lower leg injuries, but now they have a player in Bell that is a perfect fit for their system and a player that could burst on to the scene as a first year player.
It will be interesting to see how he does in his first game of the season, if he does in fact suit up.
