Le’Veon Bell suffers foot injury; out of 2nd preseason game

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie running back Le’Veon Bell made his preseason debut for the team on Monday Night Football against the Washington Redskins, but his NFL debut did not last very long. Bell exited the game with a foot injury after receiving four carries on the first series of the game. Bell was unable to return.

Bell had missed the preseason opener with a left knee injury and the latest setback was to his right foot.

It is a horrible start to Bell’s career, but we will have to see how significant the injury is before saying that the starting gig is no longer his. Pittsburgh is doing everything they can to hand Bell the starting job after drafting him in the second round, but he has not taken the necessary steps to pull away from Jonathan Dwyer or Isaac Redman.

There is no official update on Bell’s injury, so he should be considered day-to-day at this time.
