Recently, we have heard Paul Pierce talk openly about his view on New York Basketball, and how he feels about the Knicks. He’s also said that ‘it’s time for the Nets to run this city‘ referring to New York of course. But Spike Lee, who is synonymous with the Knicks, has now come forward to defend his team.
Per ESPN:
"Other teams are making a lot of noise with their big, major announcements with every move, like the Nets. The Knicks have been very quiet assembling their team, which I love. I love the fact that people are picking the Knicks fifth or lower in the East. It’s great; let people think that. Paul Pierce is talking crazy."
According to the same article, Lee isn’t even worried about the Nets as far as playoffs are concerned; he feels the Indiana Pacers are the team to beat in the Eastern conference. He does have a point; a lot of teams in the East have made huge moves this off season, and some may hurt their performance, while others will significantly help. The Heat, even though they picked up Greg Oden, have lost Mike Miller, who was a essential piece of the repeat championship puzzle. That move alone has Lee thinking the Heat won’t three-peat, even with NBA Allstars LeBron James and Dwayne Wade.
How do you think the playoffs will pan out this coming season? Do you stand with Pierce and the Nets, or are you siding with Spike and the Knicks? Let me know below!
