The Boston Red Sox fired manager Bobby Valentine after a disappointing 2012 season. Some fans ran into Bobby Valentine at a sports bar and asked him some questions over drinks.
āIs Pedroia the man?ā
BV: āYeah I guess, I think heās the man.Ā Iād love to have him everyday.ā
āSo heās as advertised?ā
BV: āHeās like the wind up baseball doll. You wind him up at 10 in the morning, and he is in uniform at 10 in the morning. Walking around with his batting gloves on and his bat, and itās a night game.ā
He says that itās great but suggests that Pedroia is f***ed up, probably referring to his obsessive nature with the game.
He also says that Dustin Pedroia is much shorter than he is and compares his handshake.
āHis handshake is much weaker than the waitress waiting on you.ā
He says that it isnāt a dead fish thing, it is just weak. Basically, Pedroia isnāt Adrian Peterson when it comes to handshakes. When it comes to healing, Pedroia is more Peterson like.
Valentine shares a story about how he thought Pedroiaās hand was broken and that he returned the next day and there wasnāt even a bruise. Pedroia simply said he was different than everyone else.
Valentine said, āheās a marvel.ā
