As A Sixers fan, I was hurt to see budding star Jrue Holiday get traded to the Pelicans. But hey, looking at that team, they’ve got some fun times ahead. For you Pelicans fans out there that don’t know about Jrue, trust me, you’ve got something special. Defensively, he’s very good. Offensively, he can score and create for others. He can play PG although some of us Sixers fan thought he could be better off playing SG. Either way, he’s good to go.

Then you got Anthony Davis. Right now, he’s mostly known for dunking and eye brows. Once he establishes more of a big man game, this duo can run the league. And if all Tyreke Evans needed was a change of scenery? Look out. I wonder if he’s more suited at a sixth man. I actually still have hope for Evans that he can at least come close to what the Kings wanted out of him when he was drafted. Still, Eric Gordon is probably the best player on the team, if he can stay on the court. So that’s a potential contending core right there.

We’ll see if Davis has a breakout year. I can’t say they make the playoffs but I think it’s safe to assume they’ll be in talks for a little while. And, as this roster matures, they’ll be making layoffs year after year. Jrue may not be a Chris Paul. I think he can be as good as Baron Davis; maybe even better. Like Davis, Jrue has a big body but is actually pretty quick and powerful. He might not be able to score at the volume Davis did, but he can put points on the board. He’s done some clutch scoring for the Sixers, bad as they were.

Yup, the Pelicans are looking mighty fine. Get a couple of years on them, and you’ve got something special. Oh, I love the uniforms by the way.
