Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin has been recovering from a concussion suffered during the preseason, but that should not hurt him as he prepares to attack the 2013-14 NFL season full speed ahead.
Many believe that Martin will emerge as a top back in the league this season and he will have a greater opportunity to do just that after learning that he will stay on the field for third-downs.
Martin also believes that he is healthier than ever and ready to attack the upcoming season.
“I have no doubt that I am in even better shape than I was last year,” he said, via the Tampa Tribune. “I’m ready to go. I practice at game speed … and that’s all I need.”
With Martin getting the full workload in Tampa, it is clearer than ever that he is deserving of a top three fantasy football running back.
For the Buccaneers and plenty of fantasy owners, the results will be riding on Martin’s shoulder and it will be up to him to prove the preseason hype was for a reason.
