Operation Patience is now complete. After weeks of waiting and receiving mixed signals from the Washington Redskins, Robert Griffin III and Dr. James Andrews, we finally have official word on whether or not RG3 will be able to start Week One of the regular season after recovering from knee reconstruction throughout the offseason.
After plenty of thoughtful deliberation, Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan has announced that Griffin will be the team’s starting quarterback for the 2013-14 season-opener.
From Jeff Darlington of the NFL Network:

Shanahan's decision was made in wake of a conference call this weekend with Dr. Andrews, GM Bruce Allen and a few others, Shanahan says.

Shanahan is standing by his previous statements that Andrews had some concerns, but he says those unexplained concerns have been alleviated.

With no more questions surrounding the Redskins starting quarterback position, we can focus on football and whether or not RG3 will suffer a sophomore slump during his second season.
There is never any guarantee of what could go on, but we have to point out that it is never good to watch your key player miss all of the valuable reps during team OTAs, minicamps and training camp.
