The 2013-14 NFL regular season kicks off in two days and fans are excited to finally have some meaningful football back in their lives. To no ones surprise, they are not alone. Even the owners, coaches and players are pumped up for their latest campaign, especially Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
Just how excited is Jones about the Cowboys this upcoming season? Excited enough that he isn’t getting any shut eye.
“Can’t sleep, popped up at 4:30 this morning,” Jones said, via Yahoo.com. “It’s just an exciting time to think that we’ve got the team on the field that we do. This is a big game, we open it up nationally at AT&T Stadium. [It’s] almost more than I can handle.”
Jones went on to add that he is feeling plenty of pressure heading in to the season, so maybe that is what is causing him to stay up at night rather than the excitement.
“I feel pressure because of the fact that we haven’t met our expectations,” Jones said. “These last two years have been arguably … the most disappointing years in my career with the Cowboys. So, we needed to make some changes, and we did and have. Now, will they work? Will they be effective and productive? That’s what’s there. But we’ve given ourselves a real chance to maximize what [Tony] Romo brings to the table, to maximize our talent.”
No matter what the Cowboys do in 2013, they will remain relevant as they always are. However, this team looks promising and they could charge to the top of the NFC East.
