Pittsburgh Steelers rookie running back Le’Veon Bell has been the unfortunate recipient of multiple injuries throughout training camp, but he could be returning to the team’s line up much sooner than imaged after suffering a mid-foot sprain on his fourth carry of the preseason.
Bell won’t be playing in the team’s season-opener at Heinz Field against the Tennessee Titans — those honors go to veteran Isaac Redman — but the second-round pick could be returning to practice on a partial basis, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.
From Scott Brown of ESPN:
Le'Veon Bell has been ruled out but Tomlin said the rookie RB could be a partial participant in practice this week.

Pittsburgh will hope for big things from the rookie when he finally gets back to action, but considering his limited work and injury prone start to his NFL career, no one should let their hopes get up too high.
Bell could eventually be the starting running back the team has been looking for, but it may take a lot longer than planned.
