Before I get this article started I just have to say that this guy has the best name in baseball as of today and it’s not because I’m fat either, alright maybe it is.

Anyways, the Minnesota Twins have signed right handed pitcher Mark Hamburger to a minor league contract. Back in February Hamburger was suspended for 50 games for testing positive for a drug of abuse.

The Houston Astros released him and he wasn’t able to fully latch on with a team until now, so Hamburger will serve his full 50 game suspension.

"“I guess we’ll see. You have a choice: You either take him at his word or not. I know he’s made some changes in his life and he’s looking forward to getting back with an affiliated club. I think he’s earned a second chance, so to speak.” Minnesota Twins director of minor league operations Brad Steil told the St. Paul Pioneer Press."

Hamburger stands at 6’4 and weighs in around 200 pounds and has been reportedly hitting 95 miles per hour on the gun with the independent St. Paul Saints.

Hopefully his drug use is behind him and he can focus on winning ball games for this Minnesota Twins organization. Steil is right when it comes to second chances, everybody deserves them. But what happens if it happens again? Are third chances automatically out the window?

We’ll just have to see, I wish the man the best of luck as he serves his suspension and takes advantage of his fresh start.
