
New York Jets running back Mike Goodson is suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. The Jets and Goodson to restructure his deal cutting his base salary from $1 million to $715 million. It moved his salary cap number down to $798,080.

At one point Mike Goodson was absent from camp attending to “some personal stuff.”
“I took the time to get myself right so I can come back and be the best football player I can be,” Goodson said via the Newark Star-Ledger.
“I’m pretty disappointed in myself,” said Goodson about, but not addressing his legal issues. “I had some things I had to do. I’m back now. I had to address those things and I’m a lot better.”
While suspended he won’t be able to practice with the team.
“He’ll have to get into football shape without being able to practice,” said Rex Ryan. “That will be a challenge.”
