A company called Monumental Threads has made a shirt for Washington Redskins fans everywhere. It is in the team’s colors and on the front has three words: “He Has Risen.” Quarterback Robert Griffin III’s number is underneath the phrase that comes from Matthew 28:6 in the Bible. The verse references Jesus Christ rising from the dead three days after he was crucified. It seems like some fans calling RG3 the ‘savior’ has gone a little too far possibly.

First, it is hard to believe RG3, who went to Baylor approves of this message. His twitter bio says “I have no Religion. I have a relationship with God. Live your life so it doesn’t live you”

Second, RG3 never missed a game for the Redskins if he starts Sunday, which the Redskins have announced he would.

So far it seems like RG3 doesn’t know what the shirt exists. RG3 though is wildly popular and this seems like a company trying to capitalize on him with a poor and lazy effort. RG3 had the highest selling jersey in NFL history during his rookie year, not to mention that Redskins fans bought every single item in his wedding registry.
