A.J. Green destroying Chicago Bears secondary
By Jason Marcum
After a disastrous start to the 2013 season, the Cincinnati Bengals got back down to basics as they drove 98 yards, highlighted by a 42-yard catch by A.J. Green that got the offense down to the 4-yard line, and two downs later, Dalton hit Green on a quick-out route for six.
The quarter ended with both clubs tied at 7, and the Bengals continued their momentum into the second-quarter, stopping the Bears offense again, and driving into Bears territory before a Dalton pass went off Green’s hands (should have been a catch) and was picked off by Tillman again, who returned it to the CIN-42.
The defense once again stood tall and forced the Bears into a 3-and-out and punt to the 9-yard line. From there, Dalton looked immediately to Green on a deep comeback route and squeezed it in over two Bears defenders. After a couple of first down passes to Jermaine Gresham and Tyler Eifert, Dalton threw a 45-yard TD bomb to Green to give the Bengals their first lead of the 2013 season.
At halftime, Green already has 5 receptions for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
