Week 1 of the NFL is finally upon the nation, and this will be the only time all 32 teams are viewed as the same in the standings. There are countless NFL fantasy leagues and gambling outlets available to bet on spreads for the contests.

So, let’s keep this simple like the old days – just pick’em.

The journey of the 2013 NFL campaign opened in Denver as the Broncos avenged their heartbreaking defeat of last season’s AFC Divisional Round matchup to Baltimore in dominating fashion as they punished the reigning Super Bowl champions, 49-27.

The Broncos are sitting lovely as a convincing Super Bowl contender. Despite quarterback Peyton Manning’s record-setting night for throwing seven touchdowns, it’s just one game.

“Well, it was a great team win,” said Manning after the big win. “It was certainly an exciting atmosphere any time you can open up an NFL season – the crowd was awesome. They were into it. They stayed with us when we were going through a little lull there in the beginning.

“We wanted to get something going,” he continued. “The crowd was really tough, I think, on their offense all night. Any time you can get a win to start the season at home, it’s definitely a special feeling. But, it’s just one win – we all know that.”
