Now that we have just about finished the 2013 season, hang onto your hat, the 2013-2014 season is just around the corner. In fact, the last event of the year is the President’s Cup, and the following week will mark the start of the new season. With the new alignment, what used to be called the silly season which included some minor tournaments, and the Q School is now part of the 2013-2014 schedule, and comes with FedEx Cup points that apply to next season. The Frys.com Open starts the new season, and it gets underway October 7th in San Martin, California.
New PGA Tour sked starts Oct. 10
The 2013-2014 PGA golf schedule will have some changes over the past few years. Be sure to visit this ESPN.com site for the adjustments. There have been some tournaments that have moved back to their previous dates, and the big change is there is no break during the FedEx Cup playoffs. This will accommodate the 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles in Scotland.
Bubba Watson thinks slow play is a far bigger concern for golf than anchored putters
If Bubba thinks slow play is a problem at the professional level, he needs to visit a municipal course sometime. What used to be a three and a half hour round or golf can quickly turn into five hours. Just get behind a group with a guy who thinks he needs to stalk every putt from every angle, like Tiger Woods.

Why can’t I ever find a Green Jacket hanging in my closet? When Horton Smith won the inaugural Masters, they had not starting awarding Green Jacket yet. Horton won the first Masters in 1934, and his second in 1936. The Masters didn’t start awarding the jackets until 1949.
Omega European Masters Golf 2013: Thomas Bjorn a Must for Ryder Cup
Based on his success at Gleneagles, Team Europe needs to find a way to get the 42 year-old Bjorn on the squad. Maybe with his playoff win in Switzerland over the weekend will get him an automatic spot in the 2014 Ryder Cup.
