No matter how good or bad your fantasy football season started, there is work to be done this week on the waiver wire. As usual, there were a number of good fantasy options that emerged in week 1 that are available in many leagues. The trick is finding which fantasy contributors have staying power and which were just one-week wonders.

That’s where this post is here to help–each Tuesday on Fansided.com you can find our top 10 waiver wire pickups for the coming week. Each week, I’ll do my best to include at least one quarterback, running back, wide receiver, and tight end as well as a team defense with a favorable matchup in case your streaming defenses or looking for a one-week fill in.

All players mentioned are available in at least 50% of ESPN leagues as of Monday and their ownership percentages are included in parentheses. That means you won’t find players like Julius Thomas on this list (although he was before his breakout last week) since he’s owned in over half of ESPN leagues. Other picks that paid off were Joique Bell, Andre Roberts, and Julian Edelman while Quinton Patton was my only whiff. Hopefully, this weeks picks help your team improve on your week 1 results.

All scoring references are ESPN Standard scoring used to give a common baseline to work from. Adjust appropriately your team and league scoring system. Each team has different needs and leagues have different scoring, so fine-tune these rankings to meet your teams needs as you place your waiver wire claims.
