Both of these quarterbacks nearly led their teams to victories over two of the top teams in the entire National Football League.

Cam Newton and his Carolina Panthers nearly knocked off Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks. While E.J. Manuel and his Buffalo Bills nearly took out Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

This match up is sure to be an exciting game from start to finish. You have both quarterbacks who are able to find their targets down field and have the skill/speed they need to tuck the ball and run with it when necessary.

I expected both games last week to be blow out victories by both the Patriots and the Seahawks, but I was clearly wrong. I was very surprised when I seen the scores of both games.

Both Cam Newton and E.J. Manuel have targets that can be considered as deep threats. This game should focus on how both defenses plans to manage the opposing quarterback. The running game for both teams should be used a lot more in this game unless the confidence is there by either quarterback.

Knowing Cam, he’s going to want to come storming out of the gate firing the pigskin all over the football field. With the Rookie the approach may be a little different, we’ll just have to wait and see how everything turns out on Sunday.

But I have the NFL Sunday Ticket and this is one game I will pay attention too.

E.J. Manuel completed 18 of 27 passing attempts for 150 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Newton who nears the bottom of the list ahead of Blaine Gabbert, completed 16 of 23 passing attempts for 125 yards and one touchdown.

The secondary for both of these teams will have their work cut out for them with Steve Smith on one side of the ball and Steve Johnson on the other.
