Will Drake be at Texas A&M’s midnight yell?
By Mike Dyce
ESPN 3 has announced that they are going to air Texas A&M’s midnight yell on Friday night. The midnight yell is a great college tradition and definitely worth watching. On the night before game day, at midnight, students gather at Kyle Field for Midnight Yell or Yell Practice. It basically is a pep rally and a chance for the student body to practice chants and yells before games.
The extra attention is stemming from the huge match up between the Texas A&M Aggies and Alabama Crimson Tide the following day. That has them pulling out all the stops including musical performances from Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen earlier in the evening.
The Aggies are expecting 50,000 fans to attend. Rumors have emerged that Johnny Manziel’s friend Drake might even attend the event. Johnny Manziel even has an OVO tattoo on his wrist. OVO stands for October’s Very Own and is Drake’s record labels name.
As of right now Drake is scheduled to appear on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.” I hate to spoil the mystery, but those shows are usually recorded earlier in the day, which means that theoretically Drake could hop on a flight and make his way to College Station for the event.
For now, A&M seems content letting the rumor exist.
And why not? All that rumor is is just another cog in the hype machine that Texas A&M is basking in. If he doesn’t show all they have to say is did you really expect him to? He was on Jimmy Fallon’s show in NYC today. If he does show, they have a celebrity surprise guest.
