Yeah I don’t know about you guys but, as a fan of the Chicago Bears this Detroit Lions team is starting to scare me a little bit. This team looks a whole lot better now that they have a running back that can help spread out the offense. This is something that they desperately needed and could be the final landing spot for Reggie Bush in his career.

Last week against the Vikings they let Adrian Peterson take off for a 78 yard touchdown on his first carry of the season, after that they only allowed him to pick up 15 yards.

Every piece of this offense for the Detroit Lions can be considered dangerous. You have two of the best wide receivers in the league going head to head in Calvin Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald. Even though Fitzgerald only had four touchdown receptions last season, he’s still considered one of the best receivers in the league when he has a quarterback that can get him the ball.

And of course with Calvin Johnson, you have a guy who set a record last season and hopes to shatter it again this season. Hands down Johnson is the best receiver in this league and has been for awhile.

While the Lions spent years putting together an offense that can put up points on the board and chew up yardage consistently, the Cardinals are slowly starting to take that form.

No they’re not a high powered offense but Carson Palmer is almost a step in the right direction, but it’s a start. Speaking of veteran players, do you remember Rashard Mendenhall? Yeah despite losing one of their best run blocking guards, Mendanhall rushed for 60 yards on 16 carries.

Which isn’t bad considering some people doubted if the man still had the skills to carry the ball the way he did when he was healthy in Pittsburgh.

Taking a look at both quarterbacks really quick.

You have Matthew Stafford who who completed 28 of 43 attempts for 357 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. His longest play was a dump off to Reggie Bush who took it 70+ yards to the house.

Palmer who got his first loss as a Cardinal from the St. Louis Rams finished the game 26 for 40 attempts for 327 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.

Expect Patrick Peterson to be matched up against Calvin Johnson. Unless they line up Bush in the slot, then Peterson should be matched up against him to have speed on speed.

Peterson is definitely a key to this game for the Arizona Cardinals.
