The Green Bay Packers plan to get rookie running back Eddie Lacy more involved in the gameplan took a hit early in the game after a ten yard run. Lacy took a helmet to helmet hit from Washington Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather — you can watch the hit here — and he was taken to the locker room for further evaluation.

After the medical staff put Lacy through a string of tests, it was determined that he would be forced to miss the rest of the game because of a concussion.

It is unfortunate for the Packers, who were planning to heavily rely on Lacy, as they take on a very tough opponent in the Redskins.

The Packers offensive line has been a disappointment early having given up three early sacks, so they certainly could have used a reliable running back to take some of the pressure off of Aaron Rodgers.

For Lacy, he will need to wait another week before letting his impact be felt in the NFL.
