Well I hope the fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers don’t decide to chew me up and spit me out after this article but, their running game is pretty awful.

So far the rotation between Felix Jones, Isaac Redman and Jonathan Dwyer hasn’t worked out all that well. If the Steelers were smart, they would consider signing free agent veteran running back Michael Turner.

The Steelers offense as a whole has been terrible within the first two weeks and now they face a tough challenge with the Chicago Bears defense on Sunday night. In two games both Felix Jones and Isaac Redman have 10 carries each for a total of 42 with no touchdowns.

Stephens-Howling was placed on the injured reserve so they’ll lose him for a good part of the season, if anything the remainder of the season.

If the Steelers hope to go anywhere the rest of this league they need a running game that can compliment a passing offense when that finally gets rolling. You can’t always rely on the arm of your quarterback unless you have a wide receiver like Megatron on your team.

In nine years in the league, Turner has rushed for 7, 338 thousand yards on  1,639 carries and 66 touchdowns. He’s caught 70 passes for 528 yards with one touchdown, which isn’t the best.

Anything right now would be an improvement, but Turner could be their best option.
