Arizona Cardinals Dan Williams may miss game Sunday
By Chris Logel
The Arizona Cardinals website has announced that Nose Tackle Dan Williams did not make the trip with the team today to New Orleans to take on the Saints on Sunday. He is attending to a family matter and is listed as questionable for the game.
Arizona blogger Darren Urban speculated on who might be activated in his place.
"Nose tackle Dan Williams did not make the trip to New Orleans because of a family matter and so is officially listed as questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Saints. If Williams can’t go, it makes sense that the Cardinals would make newcomer Alameda Ta’amu active for the first time since picking him up on waivers"
Williams was a first round draft pick of the Cardinals in 2010 and stepped right in as a starter on the defensive front. The Tennessee Volunteer product has 103 career tackles in 42 career games.
There currently is no word on exactly what the family matter is that could prevent Williams from playing in Sunday’s game. The Cardinals defense has been top notch and picked up a big win last week against the Detroit Lions. Things will only get more difficult with Drew Brees and the Saints offense. This will certainly put the young, talented defensive backs of the Cardinals to the test.
