Washington Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather is officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s match up against the Detroit Lions, while he recovers from a concussion that was suffered last week. Meriweather suffered the concussion after laying his second helmet-to-helmet hit against the Green Bay Packers in Week Two.

Meriweather will be a game-time decision for the team.

The Redskins secondary has been miserable throughout the first two games of the 2013-14 regular season, so the loss of their starting safety won’t help one bit. For Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, that means he could have a big game with Calvin Johnson having a very favorable match up.

It could get ugly really quick for the Redskins, if someone of the defensive side of the ball doesn’t step up early and often. The team’s rookies will have more pressure than ever before.

On the Lions end, starting running back Reggie Bush is also expected to be a game-time decision as he recovers from a tweaked knee that he suffered just one week ago.
