When ProFootballTalk released this video on Saturday of Ndamukong Suh throwing an elbow at Arizona Cardinals tackle Eric Winston, it appeared we’d all be in for another thrilling discussion about how “dirty” of a player Suh is. (Is he in the Top 10 Dirtiest Players of the Holocene Epoch? Slideshow at 11!) However, hopefully all that chatter will be quelled thanks to Winston himself, who downplayed the incident when asked about it on Monday.
Said Winston:
"Things happen out there. I was moving him pretty good. He was trying to get off me. I don’t know if it was intentional or not. I doubt it. But I think with that guy, obviously he’s probably lost the benefit of the doubt with a lot of people. If he swings like that and hits me across the shoulder like that, it’s fine. I’m not going to go off and say he was purposely taking a swing at my head. I think he was probably just trying to flail and get off the block (ESPN)."
In unrelated news, Suh is spending today appealing the $100,000 fine he was given for a low block on John Sulivan.
