Yesterday was definitely a scary moment for Alexi Casilla and the Baltimore Orioles as he was knocked out after diving to make a play on a ball when he colidded with Nick Markakis in right field.

Editor Josh Sanchez posted a GIF of the play, which showed Casilla running into Markakis’s knee which pretty much put him to sleep.

Now according to Brittany Ghiroli on Twitter, Alexi Casilla showed symptoms of a concussion and will have to go through the MLB guidelines to be cleared.

Every sport across the globe are starting to take concussions seriously and as well they should be. A lot of careers are getting stopped short due to blows to the head, which result in long term problems along the line.

Right now the Orioles are sitting in fourth place of the American League East and are five games back in the Wild Card standings. It’s not over yet, but they could be out of the running for the post season this year.

If that’s the case, I think the Orioles’ shut down Casilla for the rest of the season.
