C.J. Spiller was predicted to have a break out year as the Buffalo Bills leaned on him for their offense. Unfortunately the rest of the league seemed to get the memo too and have zeroed in on him and forced the Bills rookie quarterback E.J. Manuel to beat them.
“They pretty much put a lot of people in the box and dared our passing game to beat them,” Spiller said, via the Buffalo News.
“I mean, that’s gonna be the model,” Spiller said. “If I’m a defensive coordinator, that’d be my biggest thing too, is to stop our run and pretty much make our rookie quarterback beat us.”
Spiller had on solid game against the Carolina Panthers where he carried the ball 16 times for 103 yards. In his other two games he has carried the ball 27 times for 50 yards, less than 2 yards a carry.
He hasn’t been a factor in the pass game either catching 9 passes for 29 yards, barely over 3 yards a reception. Spiller also has failed to find the end zone this season.
