Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu is one of the scariest, fiercest, and most competitive players in the NFL (ask Jake Locker). Still, the veteran player clearly has a less-serious side, as evidenced by his goofy Head & Shoulders commercials, which was on full display when he stopped by Sesame Street to teach Elmo about fragrances.

I have to say I disagree with Polamalu’s assessment that onions smell bad. Onion breath? Sure, that reeks. But onions themselves? Sorry, Troy, but you’re wrong on that one. (And that, ladies and gentleman, is my Hot Sports Take of the Day. You’re welcome.)

The best part of the segment, though, is how Polamalu slips in a reference to the strawberry conditioner he uses that makes his hair so fragrant. As far as product placement goes, I’m glad Polamalu went for subtlety instead of opting for the Matt Harvey strategy.
