It has been a rough start to the season for the Pittsburgh Steelers offense and offensive coordinator Todd Haley has been receiving a bulk of the criticism. While the Steelers offense showed some new life in last week’s match up against the Chicago Bears, it appears that Haley could be on some thin ice and he needs a big performance in Week 4.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on GameDay Morning, the team’s game in London is a “crucial week” for Haley.

He points out that the team has a by week following today’s game, which would give the new play-caller two weeks to get situated with the team. However, Rapoport did say that he doesn’t expect Haley to be fired, but the move has been discussed.

It will be interesting to see if Haley can feel his seat getting warmer and if that will make him open up the playbook and give Ben Roethlisberger more control, which could be what Haley needs to do in order to really jump start the Steelers offense.

The good news for the Steelers is that Heath Miller has a week under his belt and the team is set to get back the services of rookie running back Le’Veon Bell, so all of the pieces are in play for the offense to finally turn things around and get rolling in the right direction as Pittsburgh attempts to crawl out of their 0-3 hole.
