
The Buffalo Bills lost rookie starting quarterback E.J. Manuel to an injury. Instead of starting undrafted rookie quarterback Jeff Tuel, they’ve decided to promote Thad Lewis from the practice squad and give him the start Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Bills HC Doug Marrone told WGR 550 in Buffalo that Thad Lewis will start at quarterback Sunday vs. Cincinnati.

The Bills were also one of the teams trying to sign free agent quarterback Josh Freeman, but he ultimately chose the Minnesota Vikings.
The Bills traded for Thad Lewis when they lost E.J. Manuel and Kevin Kolb to injuries in training camp. HE has started one NFL game in his career, which he lost, but he completed 22 of 32 passes for 204 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
