Safeties in the NFL have been getting some pretty severe injuries this season. Arizona Cardinals safety Rashad Johnson lost the tip of a finger in a game against the New Orleans Saints earlier this season. This isn’t anywhere close to losing the tip of your finger, but Dallas Cowboys safety Barry Church broke his nose in two places during the loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

From ESPN:

"The Cowboys lost safety Barry Church to a broken nose in the first half of their loss to Denver on Sunday. Church, who finished the game, said he broke his nose in two different places while making a tackle as his helmet slid down on his face."

Church left the game and got an x-ray, his nose stuffed to st0p the bleeding and had a visor added to his helmet before returning to action.

“I could breathe a little bit,” Church said, via the Dallas Morning News. “But majority of the game, I had to breathe through my mouth.”

The Cowboys look to get back to .500 with a win over their rivals, the Washington Redskins, next weekend.

“I will be back next week,” Church said.
