Xbox One: Release date and pre-order info

The Xbox One release is right around the corner. The Xbox One will hit shelves on November 22nd and a lot of retailers are doing special midnight releases for the highly anticipated consoles. The recovery has been considerable considering the backlash it’s initial introduction received. There were used game restrictions and mandated 24-hour online check-in. Both of those features were removed.

Mainly the console has gotten a face lift and updated look.

“We wanted to think from a holistic perspective,” said Ramiro Torres, Creative Director of design on the Xbox One. “Its design has to make an appropriate statement that reflects its capability as an all-in-one entertainment system.”

Release Date: November 22nd
Price: $499.99

Specs:

  • CPU: low power x86-64 AMD “Jaguar”, 8 cores, APU
  • GPU: AMD Radeon APU, 1.23TFLOPS

There was a special “Day One Edition” but that one has been sold out. Currently, retailers like Best Buy, Wal-Mart and the Microsoft Store are still sold out. Keep checking back though, as they get closer to the release date, more inventory might become available. Currently, they’re probably trying to be cautious with their pre-orders. They don’t want to over commit and leave angry customers without a game.

The console will retail for $499.99, though there are bundle packages available for a higher price that include games, an extra controller and a Xbox Live card.

Amazon still has ‘standard’ consoles listed as available for pre-order, the catch is that the release date on this edition is December 31st, more than a month after the actual release date.

The following games will be available when the console is released:
