Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera is ready to turn himself in to a gambling man. After a big win on Sunday afternoon against the Minnesota Vikings, Rivera made the decision to go for it on two early fourth downs and he wasted no time letting the league know that he plans on using that strategy moving forward.

Well, it’s kind of what we’re going to do and we’re going to do the best we can to make things happen,” Rivera said of his new philosophy, via David Newton of ESPN.com. “These guys bought into it.”

As far as the strategy goes, it helps the team rally behind Rivera and believe in his decision-making — at least that’s what one of the team’s stars had to say after the game.

“I think that he is kind of breaking his mold to a degree, and giving the whole team confidence with him,” quarterback Cam Newton said.

It will be interesting to see how the decision to go for it on fourth downs works moving forward, but one thing we do know is that it will be fun to watch.
