After Minnesota Vikings linebacker Desmond Bishop was inactive for the team’s first game and played limited snaps in the rest of their games, the veteran LB got his first start of the season on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. He replaced Marvin Mitchell, and there was hope Bishop could upgrade what’s been a fairly weak LB unit over the past two seasons, and it seemed clear when the Vikings signed Bishop that he would eventually work his way into the starting lineup.
Unfortunately for Bishop and the Vikings, it appears they won’t have him for the rest of the season:

Bishop went down holding his left leg in the first half and was in clear pain, but as he walked off the field without assistance, he appeared visibly frustrated. The Vikings went on to surrender 35 points and lose their fourth game of the year, and now appear out of the playoff race.
