Trey Burke out of the Utah Jazz has been the Rookie of the Year pick by a lot of outlets, but I’m not so high on him. He is undersized for the point guard position, he isn’t a great shooter, and he appears to be over his head. He has put up box scores that say 3 for 10 way too many times for my liking. Nonetheless, Burke broke his finger in Utah’s last preseason game, and it looks like they may be trying for a trade, according to ESPN’s Marc Stein:

Teague is a second year player for the Bulls, who didn’t see much time for them last season. His older brother Jeff is a borderline all-star for the Hawks, so he has some good blood in him, though. It makes sense that the Bulls would trade Teague, as they already have Derrick Rose and Kirk Hinrich, and they don’t have much need for another point guard on the roster. It also says something about Teague, when he can’t get off the bench when Derrick Rose missed the entire season. When he played, Marquis was a decent rookie, so there could be something there if he gets more playing time. Burke’s father said the recovery time was 3-6 weeks, but with fingers, you could have lingering issues. This is something to watch out for. If not we could be seeing a lot of John Lucas in Utah.
