Adrian Peterson is one of the most respected and athletic running backs this league has to offer.

After coming off a nightmarish week that involved the death of one of his sons and a huge defeat against the Carolina Panthers, Peterson was held out of practice today with a hamstring injury.

Peterson has 483 rushing yards on 102 carries with five touchdowns as the Minnesota Vikings travel to New York to take on the win-less New York Giants. Minnesota isn’t doing too hot themselves as they sit at the bottom of the NFC North with a record of 1-4 on the year.

Minnesota and Peterson are going up against a defense who ranks 26th against the rush. The Giants have given up an average of 123 yards per game on top of starting quarterback Eli Manning throwing 15 interceptions.

If there is a week where Adrian and this team needs to break out, it’s definitely this one. No it’s not against the best team in the league, but it’s a start.

The game isn’t until Monday, so I’m positive Peterson should be suiting up against the Giants on Monday Night Football.
