The St. Louis Rams watched Sam Bradford go down on a sketchy sideline play. It looked like a late hit as Bradford was headed out of bounds. Peter King of TheMMQB.com reported during Football Night in America, that it was a knee injury.
The Rams won’t know until later what the extent of the injury is until later in the night. The team is waiting till they get back to St. Louis to have an MRI on his knee to discover the extent of the injury. They seem to be bracing for the worst though in the meantime.
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported on Twitter that the Rams fear it is a torn ACL. That could, and most likely would, end his season. The Rams have Kellen Clemens as the back up on their roster but don’t have much depth besides that. They’d need to at least go out and acquire another quarterback to serve as a back up.
It could be hard to find a reliable back up on this market after numerous injuries to quarterbacks around the league. It is slim pickins out there.
The Rams do fear Sam Bradford has a torn ACL but obviously will wait on MRI tonight to determine the specific knee injury, per sources.
