After a back-and-forth affair Sunday between the Cincinnati Bengals and Detroit Lions left both team tied at 24-24 in the final minutes, the Bengals were able to move the ball just inside the range needed for head coach Marvin Lewis to feel comfortable in allowing kicker Mike Nugent to attempt a game-winning field goal.

With the ball sitting at the DET-36 with just seconds remaining, Nugent trotted onto the field in the same way he did the previous week before booting in a game-winner against the Buffalo Bills. And as he did then and so many times before, Nugent came through when it counted the most, and here’s the radio call of his latest game-winner:

That kick not only gave the Bengals a hard-fought road win, but gave them a multi-game lead in the AFC North. It’s almost a certainty that there will be at least one more opportunity for Nugent to save the Bengals again, and they undoubtedly have ll the confidence in the world now that he’ll be able to do so.
