The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are banged up heading into their Thursday night match up against the Carolina Panthers. That includes running back Doug Martin who has a torn labrum. It isn’t too surprising to find out that he didn’t practice and almost definitely won’t be available.
Martin is the Buccaneers leading rusher. He has carried the ball 127 times for 456 yards and a touchdown. The second leading rusher on the team is Mike James and he’ll likely get the increase in playing time on Thursday night.
There could be a double dose of bad news hidden in the Bucs injury report. Wide receiver Mike Williams was limited in practice today. He was a full participant on Monday. He could have suffered a minor setback or he could simply have been getting a day off. He has been dealing with a hamstring issue.
