The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have yet to announce whether or not star running back Doug Martin will miss the remainder of the season, but they have already announced that he will be ruled out of tomorrow night’s match up against the Carolina Panthers on Thursday Night Football.

Tampa Bay made the official announcement today.

From Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network:

The likelihood is that Martin will not be able to return to the team until it is too late and they are well out of the playoff mix (which they already are), so they would be wise to protect their best offensive player and place him on the injured reserve list so he is able to return next season at 100 percent.

For fantasy football owners like myself who were hoping for a big year from Martin, the early investment did not turn out as planned.
