Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning took a big hit from Indianapolis Colts pass rusher Robert Mathis on Sunday Night Football, which seemed to rattle Manning and have him off of his game moving forward. Denver ultimately lost the game, which was their first defeat of the season, but it looks like Manning was a little more shaken up than we had imagined.
Manning was absent from today’s practice with an ankle injury, but the good news is that it doesn’t appear to be serious.
From ESPN’s SportsCenter:
Peyton Manning is NOT practicing today with a minor tweak to his ankle. He is expected to practice tomorrow.

There is a chance that the Broncos were just looking for a way to get their quarterback some extra rest after a highly emotional game, so no one should be too concerned about Manning’s Week 8 status.
He will practice tomorrow and be good to go in time for the team’s meeting with the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
With how terrible the Redskins secondary is, prepare for a big game from Manning as the Broncos look to get back in the win column.
