Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano’s time in charge of the team looks like it is coming to an end. He is losing his support amongst the fans and he might have already lost the support of his players.

“How bad is it there? It’s worse than you can imagine,” said a player who spent the 2012 season in Tampa Bay. “It’s like being in Cuba.”

One player was willing to go on the record and talk about Schiano’s coaching style.

“I think he just wants to flex his power,” current Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett told Silver. “He has small (man’s) syndrome. I still talk to guys who are there, and trust me, there’s not much respect for him in that locker room.”

“He’s trying to be Belichick,” Bennett explained. “Yeah, some people think Belichick’s an (expletive), but he’s a legend. When this guy acts that way, it’s a whole different deal.”

Interesting side note, Bennett tells a tale of Peyton Manning cussing out Schiano. The story comes a from when the Bucs and Broncos were playing in December of last season. The Broncos had wrapped up the win and Schiano called the play to blow up the victory formation. A very unpopular thing he does routinely.

“Peyton cussed him out,” Bennett said. “And I ain’t never heard Peyton cuss.”

He also says the Bucs weren’t thrilled with the tactics.

“People just really hate it when you have to dive at people’s legs,” Bennett says. “At the end of the day, we’ve got to keep going and move onto the next game and try to make a living. Some of these guys (on other teams) are our friends.”
