In the NBA, it has become a common trend to see superstars leave their current team in favor of joining another star player to form a dynamic one-two punch, so you shouldn’t be surprised when there are rumblings that a player could be leaving his team.

This year’s free agency class will be loaded with star talent if they opt out of their current deals, but for some reason Jalen Rose began discussing a player who is under contract through the 2016 season — Kevin Durant.

Rose predicted that Durant will leave the Oklahoma City Thunder as soon as possible to join the Houston Rockets.

Well, now Durant has responded.

From Darnell Mayberry of The Oklahoman:

"Q: Did you hear what Jalen Rose said about the Houston thing?A: Yep.Do you have any thoughts on that?Nah, I’m here for the Thunder (laughs). I mean, that’s all I can say. I’m not thinking far down the line at all. It’s about today. Today we got better against the Chicago Bulls. I can’t tell the future. I can’t speak on that. That’s his opinion. I’m just going to keep playing for the Thunder. I love playing here.People probably will continue to say that for the next three years.Unfortunately.How do you deal with that?I mean, just let them know I’m not thinking that far down the line, I guess. I mean, I love my teammates. I love where I live. I love playing for this organization. So I’m just taking it a day at a time."

Rose likely had no reason to believe the comments he said, but it wouldn’t be out of the question to see Durant team up with Dwight Howard.

However, for now, Durant is a member of the Thunder and he has no intentions of looking three years down the road to think about where he will end up. Unlike some of the other stars, Durant is a humble guy that truly cares about his fans and the team he plays for.

To bring up unnecessary story lines at this point in his contract is just unfair to everyone involved.
