The Pittsburgh Steelers will carry the momentum of their two-game winning streak into Oakland on Sunday afternoon for a date with a team with a similar 2-4 record in the Raiders.
Through the first four games, the Steelers defense didn’t look like themselves in any way, shape or form. But in their last two victories, they’ve given up just 22 points total against the Jets and Ravens. Once again, many may have doubted the coaching talents of defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau, but it seems that he might be on his way to putting everything together once again.
Oakland is coming off a bye week, and looking to progress even further with Terrelle Pryor under center. With five touchdowns and five interceptions, he’s not exactly the model of consistency, but you can definitely tell that he’s improved on his mechanics and provides a spark for this organization that’s been missing for the better part of the last decade.
Pryor also leads the team in rushing with 285 yards on the ground on 44 carries.
The key here will be if Oakland can utilize their 129.2 yards per game on the ground, which ranks ninth in the league, against a Steelers rush defense that ranks 19th, giving up just a shade over 109 per game.
