The NFL trading deadline is two days away, and a number of teams are one or two players away at key positions from possibly taking the next step. For some, that next step is becoming a playoff contender. For others, that next step is becoming a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks may not be the player, but he certainly can be a game-changer in the right situation with the right team. One would think the Giants would be willing to deal him for whatever they can get for him, but according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, that hasn’t been the case thus far:

The struggles of the 25-year-old Nicks have been one of the strangest surprises of the Giants’ nightmare 1-6 season Nicks has 27 catches for 470 yards and no touchdowns this season, putting him on pace for a nice, but hardly overwhelming, 61-catch, 1,074-yard season. But that’s been also due to the struggles of Eli Manning.
