During Sunday NFL Countdown on ESPN, Chris Mortensen passed along some news relating to the health of Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning. When the Broncos were playing the Indianapolis Colts, there was plenty of criticism about the lack of throwing power for Manning as the game went on, but it looks like their may be a reason.

Mortensen is reporting that Manning has been dealing with sprains in both of his ankles. Obviously, that isn’t going to help anyone step and drive into their throws, which automatically takes some power off of your throws.

One of the injuries occurred against the Jaguars in Week Six, while the other happened in his Week Seven homecoming at Indy. Mort has added that Dr. Robert Anderson reviewed some of the tests from the injuries and that one is a mild high ankle sprain.

Manning is always one to tough it out, so he will just be taking some pain killers today and marching out on to the field as he looks to continue his assault on the record books.
