Ladies and gentlemen can you feeling the excitement?

We’re just days away from the NBA kicking off it’s 2013-2014 season and a lot of teams are going to have a new look.

One of those teams happen to be the team you’re currently reading about. The Brooklyn Nets pulled the trigger on a huge trade that pretty much makes the Big Three in Miami look like a group of girl scouts.

With the additions of Jason Terry, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, this Nets team is definitely one to watch out for this upcoming season. Yeah those guys have a lot of years between them, but they can all play and can play with the best and the youngest of them.

Point guard great Jason Kidd will get his first ever crack at coaching a team, which is going to be really odd to see. It would be like seeing Ray Lewis becoming the head coach of the Baltimore Ravens or another rival of theirs.

I honestly think this team could be a top five seed in this conference once again. Last season they finished 49-33 which allowed them to finish 2nd in the Atlantic Division and 4th overall in the Eastern Conference. With veteran’s Deron Williams and Joe Johnson leading the charge with this group of veterans by their side, they could pose a huge threat to the Miami Heat who are very familiar with Garnett, Pierce and Terry.

Brooklyn gave up a lot to pick up what they did from the Boston Celtics, so you would have to think that this team is looking to go all in this season. Their biggest problem right now is being able to compete in the post-season with teams like the Indiana Pacers and Chicago Bulls who now have Derrick Rose back.

I have all the confidence in the world right now for this squad and they’re actually a team I’ll be keeping a close on eye on this season. Watching D-Williams moving from the Fighting Illini to the pro’s has been an exciting thing to watch.

I believe he’s the only player besides Brian Cook from that great Fighting Illini team that had guys like Luther Head, Dee Brown, James Augustine, Rich McBride, Roger Powell on the roster for several years. With big man Brook Lopez stepping up his game last season, things should be looking really good for this organization as it moves forward.

They also added a big man shooter who can provide some help from the bench in 6’9 AK aka Andrei Kirilenko. Right now on paper, the Brooklyn Nets match up against the Miami Heat pretty well.

We’ll just have to see if they’ll be a team who can dethrone them come the playoffs.

If this team can stay healthy and Garnett and Pierce can prove to everybody that they can still ball, no reason why this team couldn’t be an Eastern Conference Finals favorite.
