The NFL trade deadline was today, Tuesday, October 29, at 4 p.m. ET and we have now passed that mark. Generally the deadline comes and goes without a sound, but there were more rumors than usual heading up to this year’s deadline.
The main focus of all of the trade rumors was Minnesota Vikings five-time Pro Bowl defensive end Jared Allen, who was linked to the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos, who came in late, but did any team pull the trigger and make a deal happen before the clock struck 4 p.m.?
Unfortunately for Allen, he will remain in Minnesota, but there was one trade.
The New England Patriots completed another last-minute deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.
New England needed to bolster their front seven after injuries to Vince Wilfork and Jerod Mayo, so they made a deal to acquire defensive tackle Isaac Sopoaga from Philly. The Patriots sent a fifth-round pick to Philadelphia and they will get a sixth-round pick back in return along with Sopoaga.
Among the players who were not traded are Josh Gordon, Kenny Britt, Anthony Dixon, Vinny Curry and Greg Little.
