Another exciting week of NFL football ends and it brings us to just about the mid-way point of the season. We saw some outstanding performances from players around the league, but we can’t honor everyone. I’ve picked my offensive and defensive players of the week from around the NFL.

Offensive Player of the Week: Calvin Johnson, WR, Detroit Lions

I don’t think this comes as much of a surprise. He singlehandedly out-gained the entire Dallas Cowboys offense. Johnson caught 14 passes for 329 yards and a touchdown. That total was the second best in NFL history.

Johnson also made two catches on the game-winning drive, including the one that brought them to the 1-yard line. On the next play, quarterback Matthew Stafford snuck the ball over the goal line to give the Lions the win.

Defensive Player of the Week: Sean Lee, LB, Dallas Cowboys

Sean Lee, who won NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors last week, did just about everything he could to out the Dallas Cowboys in a position to win. Lee lead the Cowboys in tackles with 10, two pass deflections and two interceptions. One of those receptions he returned for 74 yards down to the 4-yard line to set up a Dez Bryant touchdown pass. That gave the Cowboys the lead in the second quarter, which they would hold onto until that touchdown from Matthew Stafford at the end of the game.

Who do you think should’ve won? Sound off in the comments below.
