The Brooklyn Nets are obviously after one prize – the NBA Championship.

They’ve acquired Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett over the last three seasons, so they’re clearly not afraid to make a splash.

To be the best in the league, they’ll have to go through the team that has won the last two NBA championships, the Miami Heat.

The new-look Nets fell to the Cleveland Cavaliers 98-94 Wednesday night.

The Heat will get their first crack at the Heat Friday night.

“I don’t know if we felt we were a better team than the Heat last year,” Williams said in a sit down with new Brooklyn coach Jason Kidd for ESPN’s SportsCenter conversation via Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN New York. “And so I think in order for us to be able to beat them this year, we have to feel like we are a better team and we can beat them. And I think we do.”

The Nets will host the Heat Friday night at 8:00 pm EST. The game is on ESPN.
