Well the Boston Red Sox are World Series champions once again after an exciting series against the St. Louis Cardinals.

I personally called the Red Sox in six games, but that’s besides the point right now.

The team is obviously going to look to repeat next year and right now they have a few key players who are set to be free agents this off-season. Two of the guys are Mike Napoli and Jacoby Ellsbury.

Napoli as we all remember, almost received that big long term contract but it was cut down after the Red Sox found out he had something physically wrong with him. I thought that the avascula necrosis he was diagnosed with was going to stop him from helping the Red Sox out this season, boy was I wrong.

Not only did Napoli help the Red Sox win the World Series, but the man tied nearly tied Babe Ruth’s grand slam record. The man launched three this season including one against the New York Yankees.

Napoli clearly wants to come back and the team has the money to make that happen. This season Napoli hammered 23 home runs, drove in 92 on a .259/.360/.482 batting line. During the post season, he hit two home runs and seven RBI’s but struck out 21 times on a batting line of .217/.308/.35.

The man clearly loves it in Boston, but do the Red Sox want him to stay?

I guess we’ll find out, because Winter Meetings are just around the corner.

Congratulations to the Boston Red Sox!

Oh and Red Sox fans, would you like Napoli to return?
